AB 2579

On September 28, 2024, California’s Governor approved bill AB 2579. Passed by the Assembly and Senate, AB 2579 will extend the deadline for the initial balcony inspection to January 1, 2026. The bill also provided that if the property was inspected within 3 years prior to January 1, 2019, no new inspection is required until January 1, 2026. AB 2579 amended SB 721 known as California’s balcony inspections law.
