Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD)

The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) is a European Union directive that aims to promote the improvement of the energy performance of buildings within the EU. It sets out requirements for member states to establish energy performance standards for both new and existing buildings, with the goal of reducing energy consumption, lowering carbon emissions, and promoting the use of renewable energy sources in the building sector. The EPBD includes provisions for energy performance certification, minimum energy efficiency requirements for buildings, and measures to promote the use of energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy systems in buildings.
