Legal Nonconforming

A property that does not meet all aspects of the current ordinance but is considered to be grandfathered in under the previous version of the code. (e.g. a warehouse established prior to the adoption of regulations that limit or prohibit the use within a zoning district; A structure built prior to the adoption of minimum setback requirements that encroaches into a required yard setback).
