Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)
PFAS or Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a class of man-made chemical compounds widely used for manufacturing an array of household, industrial, and manufacturing goods that contain water repellant properties. PFAS are very resistant to breakdown, migrate easily, and concentrate in the food chain. As a result, they may be found throughout the environment in groundwater, surface water, soil, and air.
